Classic Zero Seatpost
Description
Zero-setback posts solve a specific fit problem: riders whose saddle rails don't have enough forward travel on a traditional layback post, or frames with slack seat tube angles that push the saddle too far behind the bottom bracket. The Ritchey Classic Zero Seatpost tackles that geometry in a straight, high-polish silver 6061 aluminum shaft that looks right at home on a steel frame or any classic build where a modern black post would look out of place.
The head uses a 2-bolt fore/aft clamp design, so you're adjusting saddle angle with independent front and rear bolts rather than a single-bolt cradle. That gives you finer control over tilt — a quarter turn on either bolt makes a small, predictable change — and holds the saddle position without slipping under load. Torque the clamp bolts to a maximum of 7Nm and you're set. The oblong internal shaft is thicker where stress concentrates and thinner where it doesn't, which keeps the weight in check without giving up strength.
Zero offset means the saddle sits directly over the seatpost centerline. If you already know you want your saddle forward — because your current post is slammed all the way forward on the rails, or your bike fitter has you in that position — this is the post that gets you there cleanly. If you're currently running a setback post with the saddle mid-rail, this will move you roughly 25mm forward, so plan accordingly. It comes in 27.2, 30.9, and 31.6mm diameters and 350mm or 400mm lengths, with a 100mm minimum insertion mark you'll want to respect during setup.
