Comp Rizer Handlebar
Description
Getting the cockpit right on a hardtail or short-travel trail bike often comes down to sweep angles and rise more than any single spec on the box. The Ritchey Comp Rizer Handlebar keeps things straightforward with a 9-degree backsweep, 2-degree upsweep, and 20mm of rise — numbers that land in the sweet spot for XC riders who want a hand position that's neutral through long climbs and stable on faster descents. Double-butted 6061 alloy construction handles the abuse of everyday trail riding without the weight penalty of straight-gauge tubing.
The 31.8mm clamp diameter fits standard mountain bike stems, so you're not hunting for a specific stem to make this work. Grip area is generous enough that dropper remotes, brake levers, shifters, and a lockout can all find a home without fighting each other for real estate. Bar-end compatibility is there if you're running the older-school setup with clip-on extensions or ergonomic bar ends.
Ritchey positions the Comp tier as their value line, but the geometry mirrors what you'll find on the WCS Rizer at the top of the range. You're paying less for alloy rather than carbon and forgoing some finish detail, not giving up the shape that Ritchey has refined over decades of mountain bike component design. For a first bar upgrade off a stock cockpit, or a replacement on a hardtail that sees weekly trail duty, this is the version that gets the job done without overspending.... Read More
