Description
Lock-on grips solve the fundamental problem of twist—that moment when your grip rotates on the bar during a hard effort or technical section, breaking your connection to the bike exactly when you need it most. The Ritchey Comp Trail Grips use a single aluminum clamp on each grip that cinches down with a 3mm hex bolt, eliminating any possibility of rotation once tightened. The design places the clamp on the inboard side of the grip, leaving the outboard end open for a clean visual line and unobstructed bar-end access if you're running plugs or extensions.
The grip compound itself uses Ritchey's True Grip rubber, which balances tackiness with durability in a way that holds up across weather conditions. Wet rides don't turn these grips into slippery hazards, and dry summer heat doesn't leave them feeling like hardened plastic after a season of UV exposure. The ergonomic profile maintains a consistent 30mm diameter across the grip length, providing enough surface area for comfortable hand positioning without the bulk that causes fatigue on longer rides.
Installation takes minutes rather than the wrestling match that slip-on grips require. Loosen the clamp bolt, slide the grip onto a clean bar, position it where you want it, and tighten. No hairspray, no compressed air, no waiting for adhesive to set. When it's time to adjust your grip position or swap to a different compound, the same simplicity applies in reverse—loosen and slide rather than cutting and scraping.... Read More
