Description

Rise in a handlebar shifts your hand position upward without adding stem spacers or swapping to a shorter fork, which changes how weight distributes between the front and rear wheel during climbing and descending. The Ritchey Comp Trail Rizer 35 builds 35mm of rise into a bar that sweeps back 9 degrees and up 5 degrees, creating a cockpit position that takes pressure off wrists during long descents while maintaining enough forward weight bias for technical climbing traction. This is Ritchey's Comp-level construction using double-butted 6061 aluminum—durable enough for trail duty without the weight penalty of straight-gauge tubing.

The 35mm clamp diameter has become standard for modern trail and enduro stems, providing increased stiffness at the stem interface compared to older 31.8mm setups. Ritchey machines the clamping area with a shot-peened finish that improves fatigue resistance where stress concentrations are highest. The 780mm width gives you room to trim if needed—most riders find their preference somewhere between 760mm and the full 780mm depending on shoulder width and trail type.

Riser bars make the most difference on bikes where you're fighting the front end's tendency to wander on steep descents or where a low stack height leaves you hunched over on climbs. The 35mm rise here provides meaningful position change without going so tall that the bike feels disconnected during hard cornering. If your current flat or low-rise bar has you doing stem gymnastics with spacers, this is a cleaner solution that puts the rise where it belongs—at the grip, not under the stem.... Read More
