Description

Ritchey's Comp Zero Alloy Seatpost tackles the two things that go wrong with budget alloy posts — saddles that slip under load and a ride quality that beats you up on longer efforts. The redesigned Zero post offers no-slip saddle engagement and high adjustability by securing the rails with fore and aft bolts , so once you dial in your angle, it stays put through rough pavement, gravel chatter, and cyclocross remounts. It's the kind of interface you set once and forget about.

An oblong internal shaft profile puts thicker wall material where the post sees the most stress and thins it out where it doesn't need to be , which is how Ritchey keeps weight reasonable without sacrificing durability. The 6061 alloy construction won't ride like carbon, but the shaping gives you a touch of compliance under load — welcome relief compared to the rigid tubes that dominated this price point a decade ago.

The zero-offset head suits riders who need to sit forward over the bottom bracket — steep-seat-tube gravel bikes, triathlon-adjacent road setups, or anyone who's fought a setback post to reach a comfortable position. It works equally well on mountain bikes where saddle position tends to run further forward. The 7Nm max saddle clamp torque is worth noting when you're installing rails, and follow your frame manufacturer's spec on the seat collar itself.
