Road 4-Axis Adjustable Stem
Description
Finding a fixed stem length that puts your bars exactly where you want them can take three or four purchases before you land on the right combination. The Ritchey 4-Axis Adjustable Stem sidesteps that trial-and-error entirely by letting you pivot the extension through a wide angle range on the same piece of hardware, so you can dial in stack and reach with an Allen key instead of another online order.
The adjustment mechanism uses a 3D-Net shaped forged shaft interconnected with a precision broached clamp, which is Ritchey's way of describing the toothed interface between the steerer clamp and the extension. The joint offers a range of ±55 degrees of adjustment, meaning you can run the stem angled well below horizontal for an aggressive road position or kicked up for a more upright endurance setup. Loosen the two pinch bolts, set the angle, torque back to spec, and the toothed interface locks the position without slipping under load.
Construction is 3D net forged 6061 alloy with stainless steel bar and steerer clamp bolts for corrosion resistance where hardware sees the most weather. The bar clamp is a four-bolt faceplate sized for the 31.8mm standard that covers the vast majority of current road and gravel handlebars, and the steerer clamp fits standard 1-1/8" threadless forks....
