Description
Adjustable stems exist because bike fitting isn't always a one-and-done proposition. The Ritchey Road 4-Axis Adjustable Stem provides four degrees of freedom that fixed stems simply can't match—rise angle, extension reach, bar rotation, and height spacer positioning all become variables you can dial in without swapping parts. For riders still zeroing in on their position, recovering from injury, or managing flexibility changes across seasons, this approach eliminates the usual trial-and-error of buying multiple stems to find the right stack and reach combination.
The stem uses 7050 aluminum construction with a four-bolt faceplate that clamps standard 31.8mm handlebars. Angle adjustment spans from six degrees below horizontal to positive eighteen degrees of rise, covering the range from aggressive race positions to upright endurance setups. Reach extension adjusts independently, letting you fine-tune how far forward the bars sit relative to the steerer. Combined adjustability means the stem can replicate positions that would otherwise require several fixed stems to test.
Ritchey machines the steerer clamp for 1-1/8 inch threadless steerers with a removable top cap that allows standard spacer stacking. The faceplate uses a traditional four-bolt pattern with hardware sized for proper torque application without risk of crushing the handlebar. Available in three lengths that serve as starting points for the adjustable reach range, letting you bracket your target position and dial from there.... Read More
