Description

If you're building up a Septimer Break-Away frameset with a mechanical groupset, this is the kit you need — and it's sold separately from the frame. Ritchey lists the stops/guides kit for mechanical groupsets as available separately under IMD 15000007129, not included with the frameset. The Septimer ships with provisions for external rear hydraulic hose and full external mechanical brake outer, but to actually route mechanical shift cables across the Break-Away coupler in the downtube, you need Ritchey's purpose-built hardware. That's what's in this box.

This mechanical cable routing kit is exclusively for the Ritchey Septimer Break-Away frameset and consists of cable guides, stops, and couplers for installing a mechanical groupset on your Septimer. The centerpiece is the pair of cable disconnectors, which let you split mechanical shift housing at the Break-Away point so you can pack the bike into its travel case without cutting cables or fully removing your derailleurs. Reconnect them on the other end of your flight, check shifting, and ride.

One thing worth knowing before you order: this kit is for mechanical shift cables only. The Septimer frame is equipped for external rear hydraulic hose and full external mechanical brake outer, and the mechanical cable splitter cannot be used with hydraulic brake lines. If you're running hydraulic disc brakes, you'll still need to disconnect them at the caliper or lever for travel — there's no shortcut around that. The disconnectors here are for shift housing, not brake hoses. Electronic groupsets don't need this kit at all; SRAM AXS and wireless setups skip the cable routing question entirely, and Shimano Di2 has its own dedicated stealth wire routing on the frame....
