Ritchey's WCS 1-Bolt Dropper Seatpost lands squarely in that gap, offered only in 27.2mm with a zero-offset 1-bolt head that takes round or oval rails. It is built from 7075 alloy with 70mm or 100mm of travel, which keeps the post short enough to clear tight seat tubes while still giving you usable saddle drop when the terrain turns.

The 1-bolt saddle clamp is the same design carried across the WCS seatpost line — straightforward to set angle, and it holds position without creep. Internal stealth routing keeps the cable out of sight, and the replaceable oil cartridge means service comes down to swapping the cartridge rather than rebuilding the whole assembly. Both travel options use infinite travel stops, so you can hold any saddle height between full extension and full drop. Sometimes that is an inch of drop to shift weight back on a loose gravel descent, sometimes it is the full 100mm for a singletrack detour.
