WCS Alloy 1-Bolt Seatpost
Description
Ritchey's WCS 1-Bolt Seatpost puts the SideBinder clamp mechanism at the center of the design — a single 5mm bolt on the side of the head handles both fore/aft position and saddle tilt in one adjustment. The post is 3D forged from 7050 alloy, comes in 27.2, 30.9, and 31.6mm diameters, offers 350 and 400mm total lengths with 100mm of minimum insertion, and runs a 20mm setback. If you've spent time fighting a two-bolt cradle to hold saddle angle while dialing in setback, the appeal of a single-bolt system is obvious: one torque check, one adjustment, done.
The shaft uses an oblong internal diameter — thicker wall thickness where the post sees load, less material where it isn't needed — which is how Ritchey keeps weight reasonable without dropping to a carbon layup. It's a straightforward alloy post for riders who want quiet, reliable performance without paying for the composite version.
The included clamp handles standard 7x7mm round steel or titanium saddle rails, and Ritchey sells a separate clamp assembly for carbon 7x10mm oval rails — worth knowing before you drop this under a saddle with aero carbon rails, since the stock hardware won't fit those profiles. Max saddle clamp torque is 12Nm; seat collar torque isn't specified on the post itself, so follow whatever your frame or seat binder calls for. ... Read More
