Description

Carbon forks for gravel and cyclocross duty need to handle loads that road forks never see—disc brake torque, wider tire clearances, and the constant chatter of rough surfaces transmitted directly into the steerer. The Ritchey WCS Carbon Gravel Cross Fork builds around a tapered steerer that matches the stiffness requirements of modern gravel frames while keeping weight competitive with road-specific options. The 1-1/8" to 1-1/2" taper provides the bearing contact area needed for precise steering under braking loads, and the full carbon construction extends through the crown and legs to manage vibration before it reaches your hands.

Tire clearance sits at 45mm, which covers the majority of gravel tire options and leaves mud clearance for cyclocross conditions. The flat-mount disc brake interface positions your caliper for clean cable or hose routing, and the 12mm thru-axle dropout eliminates the flex that quick-release systems allow under hard cornering or braking. Ritchey specs the axle-to-crown at 395mm with a 47mm offset—geometry numbers that work with frames designed around current gravel standards rather than adapted road dimensions.

The fork includes mounting points that expand your carrying options: two sets of three-pack mounts on each leg accommodate cargo cages or anything-cage systems, while a fender mount at the crown keeps your coverage options open for wet-weather commuting or long-distance riding. This hardware compatibility matters if you're building a gravel bike that needs to pull double duty—the fork doesn't force you to choose between race-day weight and touring functionality....
