WCS Top Cap
Size: 1 1-8
Description
Top caps are one of those parts that quietly stop matching the rest of your cockpit. You swap a stem, the old cap suddenly looks wrong, and the logo on top of your headset stack doesn't line up with anything else on the bike. The Ritchey WCS Top Cap solves that with a TR logo that matches the current graphics on Ritchey's WCS stems, so a stem upgrade or replacement doesn't leave you staring at mismatched branding every ride.
This is the compression cap kit, not a complete compression system. It includes the alloy cap itself, the compression bolt, and a plastic bolt cover that hides the hex head once everything's torqued down. You'll still need a star nut already pressed into an alloy or steel steerer, or an existing expansion plug if you're running a carbon fork — the kit doesn't replace either of those.
Two sizes cover most modern builds. The 1-1/8" version (SKU ending 7004) fits the standard threadless setup found on the vast majority of road, gravel, and mountain bikes built in the last two decades. The 1-1/4" version (SKU ending 7005) is for the larger upper-bearing standard you'll see on some Ritchey frames and a handful of other brands using that spec. Check your stem clamp diameter at the steerer before ordering — they're not interchangeable.... Read More
