Description
Lock-on grips solve the one problem regular slide-on grips can't: they don't twist on the bar when your hands are wet, sweaty, or hanging off the back of the saddle on a steep descent. The Ritchey WCS TrueGrip X Locking Grips use dual aluminum collars to clamp the grip to the bar at both ends, paired with a dual-density Kraton rubber compound that gives you a firmer inner sleeve for support and a softer outer surface for the part your hand actually touches.
The 130mm length covers a standard hand width on flat and riser bars, and the 30mm outer diameter falls in the middle of the lock-on grip range — thicker than a thin XC grip but not as bulky as a cushioned trail grip. Round profile, no flange, which keeps your hand position flexible whether you're sliding inboard for climbs or outboard for descents. Each collar uses a 3mm hex bolt, so installation and removal happens with a single tool.
If you're replacing worn slide-on grips and tired of the hairspray-and-prayers installation routine, this is the practical upgrade. The locking design also makes them a sensible choice for anyone running grips that need to come on and off — travel bike, swapping bars between builds, or just rotating grips before they wear through. Kraton holds up well to sun and sweat, and the dual-density construction means the soft outer layer can wear without compromising the structural inner sleeve.... Read More
