Roval's gravel wheel program took a sharp turn with the Terra C III, abandoning the previous generation's hooked bead and 25mm internal width for a hookless rim with 27mm internal width that pairs naturally with the wider tires gravel riders now run. The rear wheel weighs a claimed 870 grams and uses a 32mm-deep carbon rim with an asymmetric profile, offsetting spoke tension to balance load across the drive and non-drive sides. It's a wheel built specifically for the demands of mixed-terrain riding rather than a road wheel repurposed for dirt.

The 27mm internal width seats tires in the 38mm to 50mm range with a rounder profile, which improves cornering grip and lets you run lower pressures without the casing folding under load. Hookless construction simplifies the rim geometry and trims weight at the bead, though it does require tubeless-compatible, hookless-approved tires rated for the pressures gravel typically runs. The rim is tubeless-ready out of the box with tape and valves installed, so setup comes down to mounting a tire and adding sealant.

DT Swiss provides the internals, with a 350-series hub running a 36-tooth Ratchet EXP freehub that engages every 10 degrees. The EXP design integrates the threaded ring and bearing seat into a single piece, which simplifies service and stiffens the drive interface compared to the older Star Ratchet system. Spoke count is 24 rear, laced two-cross with DT Swiss Aerolite bladed stainless spokes and aluminum nipples.
