Description
Wide platform contact area and low stack height define the 105 PD-R7000 pedals. The stainless steel body plate spreads cleat pressure across a broader surface than narrower pedal designs, which translates to a more stable foot feel during hard efforts. Shimano positions the spindle axis close to your shoe sole, keeping your foot lower relative to the pedal axle for a direct power transfer sensation.
The binding mechanism uses Shimano's SPD-SL three-bolt cleat system. Spring tension adjusts via a single bolt on each pedal, letting you dial in the release force from light enough for new clipless users to firm enough for aggressive sprinting. The R7000 ships with SM-SH11 yellow cleats, which provide 6 degrees of float. If you prefer less movement, Shimano's red cleats eliminate float entirely, while blue cleats offer 2 degrees with a longer pivot point.
Sealed cartridge bearings handle the spindle rotation. The cartridge design keeps contamination out better than loose-ball systems, and the bearings are serviceable when they eventually wear. The composite body keeps weight reasonable without sacrificing the rigidity of the steel contact plate where it matters most.... Read More
