With the 12-speed Di2 component system release, Shimano also introduced a new Di2 charging system set-up. The EW-EC300 charging connector is designed specifically for Shimano's 12-speed Di2 road drivetrains and it is connected via a proprietary magnetic port on the rear derailleur, while having a USB-A connection on the other end of the 1.5 meter cable. The EC300 is also compatible with Shimano 12-speed power meters and is much simpler to use and less expensive than previous chargers.
