Description
The Shimano Dura-Ace ST-R9160 puts Di2 shifting and rim braking at the ends of your base bar, where you need them when you're out of the aero position. These levers are designed specifically for time trial and triathlon setups, with a slim profile that cuts through the air and a single-button shift interface that works with Synchronized Shift. One button per lever is all you need when the system handles front derailleur changes automatically based on your rear shifts.
Each lever features a carbon fiber blade connected to a glass fiber reinforced bracket body. The expanding wedge clamp fits bar ends with internal diameters from 19mm to 22.5mm, which covers most aerobar configurations. Internal routing keeps the brake cables hidden and the cockpit clean. The lever pivot is positioned to work with Shimano's Super SLR brake calipers, and reach adjustment lets you dial in the fit for your hand size.
The shift buttons are programmable through E-Tube, so you can decide which lever upshifts and which downshifts. Multi-Shift is built in as well—hold the button down and the derailleur keeps moving through the cassette until you release it. This is useful for fast gear dumps before a climb or when you need to spin up quickly after a corner. The levers pair naturally with the SW-R9160 bar-end shifters if you want shifting at your fingertips while in the aero tuck, giving you complete control of the drivetrain from any position on the bike....
