GRX FC-RX600 2x Crankset
Description
Shimano built the GRX platform specifically for gravel rather than adapting road cranks to fit wider frames, and the FC-RX600 brings that gravel-specific engineering into the mid-tier price point. The 2x11-speed crankset runs a 46-30T chainring combination that lands between a compact road setup and a mountain double, giving you enough top-end for pavement stretches without leaving you overgeared on a loose climb. If you're building a gravel bike around Shimano 11-speed shifters and derailleurs, or replacing a worn crankset on an existing GRX setup, this is where the drivetrain conversation starts.
The 46.9mm chainline sits 2.5mm outboard of a standard road crank, which is the whole point of the GRX platform. That extra clearance is what lets frame designers open up the chainstays for wider tires without the chain rubbing on a bag, tire, or frame. It also keeps front shifting crisp when the chain is running at an angle across an 11-34T cassette, which is where most gravel drivetrains end up living.
Construction is Hollowtech II 2-piece with cold-forged aluminum crank arms bolted to a 24mm steel spindle. The 4-arm asymmetric spider uses a 110/80mm bolt circle, so replacement chainrings are available separately when the teeth eventually wear out and you don't have to buy a complete crankset again.
