This set pairs the ST-RX610 dual control lever with the BR-RX400 flat mount caliper, arriving pre-bled and pre-connected as a ready-to-install front or rear brake system for 12-speed GRX builds.

The ST-RX610 lever handles mechanical 12-speed shifting with the same cable pull as the RX820, which means it plays cleanly with the full 12-speed GRX derailleur lineup, RX820 cassettes, and RX820 cranksets. That compatibility matters if you're building around the 10-45 or 10-51 wide-range cassettes, or if you want to spec RX820 derailleurs and reserve budget for wheels or a frameset. Reach adjust is retained for hand-size tuning, and the textured hood plus anti-slip brake lever coating carry over from the 800-series to hold grip when things get wet or dusty.

What you give up versus the RX820 lever is the updated hood ergonomics designed specifically for flared bars, and Servo Wave brake actuation. Without Servo Wave, lever feel is more linear through the stroke rather than the quick-bite-then-modulate profile of the higher-tier lever. For a lot of riders that's a wash, and the savings go a long way when you're building a complete 1x or 2x drivetrain.
