Description
Removing your chain for a deep clean or replacing a damaged section used to mean breaking out a chain tool and pressing in a new pin. The SM-CN900-11 Quick-Link from Shimano eliminates that step entirely for 11-speed drivetrains. You align the two halves, slide them together, and apply pedal pressure to lock the connection. No tools required for installation, though the TL-CN10 pliers make removal cleaner if you want to avoid wrestling with the link by hand.
These quick-links work across Shimano's entire 11-speed chain lineup, covering road, mountain, and e-bike applications. That means compatibility with the CN-HG901 chains found on Dura-Ace and XTR builds, the CN-HG701 used with Ultegra and Deore XT, and the CN-HG601 paired with 105 and SLX. If you're running a Linkglide 11-speed system, these work there too. One part number handles the full range of 11-speed Shimano drivetrains.
Shimano applies SIL-TEC surface treatment to the link plates, matching the coating used on their higher-end chains. This treatment reduces friction at the link interface and provides corrosion resistance. The nickel plating adds durability against dirt and grime, which matters since the quick-link sits right in the power transfer path and sees the same loads as every other link in the chain....
