TL-BR Professional Disc Brake Bleed Kit
Description
Bleeding Shimano hydraulic disc brakes with a cobbled-together setup—a mismatched syringe, the wrong funnel, a bleed block borrowed from a different brake—is how mineral oil ends up on your rotors and pads. The Shimano TL-BR Professional Disc Brake Bleed Kit is the factory-spec answer: the same tooling Shimano's service network uses, packaged so a home mechanic can bleed road, gravel, or mountain hydraulics without improvising. Mineral oil is sold separately, but everything else needed for a clean bleed lives in this box.
The kit is built around three modular pieces. The TL-BR001 syringe handles the caliper end of the bleed with an updated threaded tube joint and a revised locking clip that keeps the hose seated under pressure. The TL-BR002 funnel threads into the M7 bleed port on ST-series road and gravel brake levers, and the TL-BR003 funnel handles the M5 port on BL-series mountain levers. Swap the funnel to match the lever and the same syringe covers the rest of the job.
Four bleed blocks round out the set, covering the piston spacings across Shimano's caliper range so you can hold the pistons in the correct position while purging air. The oil spill guard lid includes an integrated oil stopper holder, which is a small detail that matters when you're topping off the funnel and don't want to hunt for the plug mid-bleed. Instructions are available as a download from Shimano rather than in the box, so pull up the PDF for your specific brake before starting.
