The kit is two brackets, 8 mounting bolts, and a loop handle, and without it a spare X2-600Wh pack has no way to lock into a Levo 4 frame. Specialized sells the Battery Mounting Bracket for the X2-600Wh Battery as a standalone part for exactly that reason. It bolts to the top of the 600Wh battery in the 3.1 Full Power system and secures the pack to the frame, and it does not come in the box with the battery. Order it alongside the battery and you save yourself a second wait.

Inside the box are two pieces: a 600Wh adapter bracket that spans the shorter pack, and a top L-bracket that carries the loop handle, the same L-bracket used on the X2-840Wh battery. A set of 8 M4 x 0.7 x 8mm bolts holds the assembly together and fixes it to the battery housing. Specialized calls for 2 Nm on those fasteners using a 3mm hex key, which is light. These are small screws threading into an aluminum battery case, and over-torquing them is the one mistake worth avoiding on what is otherwise a 10-minute job.

The loop handle matters more than it sounds like it should. On the Levo 4 the battery loads through a hatch on the side of the downtube, and a 5mm hex key releases the cover and the retention bolt. The handle is what you grab to lift the pack clear of the frame and what you use to guide it back in without dragging it across the paint.
