Description

Body Geometry saddles have been Specialized's fit story since 1997, and the Power Evo Comp takes the short-nose Power platform and reshapes it around what the brand learned from WorldTour riders who move front-to-back on the saddle rather than sitting locked in one spot. The EVO shape was developed with WorldTour, WorldCup and amateur riders after the original Power design showed potential for optimization in pressure distribution and comfort. The result keeps the short-nose profile that made the Power popular, but widens the nose and reworks the cutout to open up more usable real estate.

Compared to traditional foam saddles, the shape reduces pressure at the tip of the saddle by 34.1 percent, cuts peak pressure along the centerline by 18 percent versus the Power Mirror, and drops sit bone pressure by 28.8 percent. Those numbers matter most when you're rotated forward on the drops or grinding out a long tempo effort where a narrow nose creates soft tissue pressure. The wider nose gives you a landing pad when you slide forward to climb, and the elongated center channel keeps pressure off soft tissue whether you're on the rivet or sitting back.

The rails run 2cm longer than the original Power saddles, which gives you more fore and aft room to dial in your position on the seatpost clamp. That's a useful detail if you've ever pushed a Power saddle to the end of its rails trying to get the setback right. If you're coming off a standard Power and found the nose too narrow or the fit slightly cramped, the Evo geometry is where Specialized addressed those complaints.... Read More
