Description

Saddle fit conversations usually start with width, but the Power Evo Comp introduces a variable that matters just as much: nose length. Specialized shortened the nose by 35mm compared to their standard Power saddle, which changes where your weight sits during aggressive riding positions. When you rotate forward on the drops or in the aerobars, a traditional saddle nose can create pressure points that shorter-nosed designs eliminate entirely. The Power Evo Comp uses this truncated profile with a deep center channel that runs the full length of the shell, addressing soft tissue pressure for riders who spend significant time in forward positions.

The shell construction pairs a composite base with Level II padding density, which Specialized positions between their firmer race saddles and the more cushioned options designed for endurance geometry. That middle-ground padding works for riders who want some compliance without the hammock effect that softer saddles create under hard pedaling efforts. The shell itself maintains enough flex to absorb road vibration while staying supportive enough that you're not wallowing around during seated efforts.

Body Geometry features built into the design include the center channel and a slightly curved profile from nose to tail. Specialized developed these elements through pressure mapping studies, and while "ergonomic design" gets thrown around loosely in the saddle market, the Power Evo's geometry reflects actual rider data rather than marketing department decisions. The rails are hollow chromoly steel, which keeps the price point accessible while adding slightly more weight than titanium or carbon alternatives.... Read More
