Description
The S-Works Phenom with Mirror uses a 3D-printed polymer matrix with 20,055 struts and 8,735 nodes to create targeted pressure distribution across the saddle surface. The concave carbon shell design allows Specialized to fit a thicker Mirror pad than other models in their lineup, which translates to a 28 percent reduction in sit-bone pressure compared to traditional foam saddles according to their pressure mapping studies. The liquid polymer construction responds differently than foam, supporting your sit bones across a wider area rather than compressing uniformly under load. Each node in the matrix is tuned individually to provide support where you need it while maintaining flex in areas that should move with your pedal stroke.
The Phenom shape follows a long, flat profile that measures 27 centimeters from nose to tail. This makes it Specialized's longest Mirror saddle to date and gives you substantial real estate to adjust your position throughout a ride. You can slide forward during hard efforts or back for sustained climbing without running out of platform. The flat profile works if you don't rotate your pelvis significantly and prefer a stable platform that lets you shift positions without dramatic changes in saddle angle. The long nose provides support in aggressive positions while the wider rear platform distributes pressure when you're sitting upright.
The FACT carbon shell sits on oversized 7x9mm carbon rails. These oval-profile rails shed weight compared to traditional round rails but require a seatpost with an oval clamp design. Side-load clamps designed for standard 7mm round rails won't work with this saddle. Check your seatpost compatibility before ordering, as you may need to source oval clamp hardware separately. The carbon shell uses a concave profile that creates space for the thicker Mirror pad while maintaining structural integrity. The shell flexes enough to absorb vibrations without feeling soft or unstable when you're putting power through the pedals.... Read More
