Description

Specialized designed the S-Works Tarmac SL7 Stem as a direct replacement for the integrated cockpit system on their Tarmac SL7 frameset, giving you a way to adjust reach without replacing the entire handlebar assembly. The stem uses the same proprietary interface that connects to the SL7's aerobar system, maintaining the clean internal cable routing that defines the bike's front end. If your current SL7 fit needs fine-tuning or you're building up an SL7 frameset with different reach requirements than the stock configuration, this is the component that lets you dial in position without compromise.

The stem's carbon construction matches the S-Works philosophy of minimizing weight at every opportunity while maintaining the stiffness necessary for precise steering input. Specialized offers the stem across a range of lengths from 80mm to 130mm in 10mm increments, which covers the adjustment range most riders need when working with a professional fitter or adapting to changes in flexibility over time. The design integrates seamlessly with the SL7's headset cover and spacer system, preserving the aerodynamic profile that Specialized's engineers optimized in the wind tunnel.

Installation requires attention to the proprietary hardware and torque specifications that come with integrated cockpit systems. The stem works exclusively with the Tarmac SL7 aerobar—it won't bolt up to standard round or aero handlebars from other manufacturers, and it's not compatible with the newer SL8 cockpit system despite the family resemblance. This specificity is the tradeoff for the aerodynamic integration and clean aesthetic that the SL7 platform delivers.... Read More
