Description

Electric gravel bikes face a fundamental tension between motor assistance and the ride quality that makes drop-bar riding appealing in the first place. Add a motor and battery to a traditional frame and you often end up with something that feels like a gravel bike only in the most superficial sense—the geometry might be similar, but the weight distribution, handling characteristics, and overall ride feel suggest a different category entirely. The Specialized Turbo Creo 2 Comp attempts to resolve this tension by treating the electric drivetrain as something to be integrated rather than accommodated, building the motor and battery into a chassis designed around their presence from the outset.

The FACT 11r carbon frame houses Specialized's SL 1.2 motor system, which produces 50Nm of torque and 320 watts of peak power while adding considerably less weight than mid-drive systems from other manufacturers. The motor sits low in the frame at the bottom bracket area, keeping the center of gravity where you'd expect it on a traditional gravel bike. A 320Wh internal battery provides the primary power source with range up to five hours depending on assist level, and an optional Range Extender adds capacity for longer adventures—the system is designed so you can carry additional power when needed without committing to that weight on every ride.

The SRAM mullet drivetrain pairs Apex eTap AXS wireless shifters with an X1 Eagle AXS rear derailleur, combining road ergonomics with mountain bike gear range. The 44T chainring feeds an 11-50T 12-speed cassette that covers everything from fast road descents to steep gravel climbs where the motor earns its keep. Electronic shifting eliminates cable stretch and indexing drift, and the shift quality remains consistent regardless of conditions or how long the bike has been in service. SRAM Apex hydraulic disc brakes with a 180mm front rotor and 160mm rear provide stopping power appropriate for the speeds and terrain this bike handles.... Read More
