AXS PowerLock 12-Speed Chain Connector Link
Size: Silver
Description
SRAM's AXS PowerLock 12-Speed Chain Connector Link is the correct quick link for the Flattop road chain profile used across Red, Force, and Rival AXS drivetrains. The Flattop chain is a fundamentally different shape than SRAM's Eagle mountain chain or the flat-top T-Type Transmission chain, and each one uses its own PowerLock — mixing them up is the most common mistake we see at the counter. If you're running a 12-speed AXS road or gravel setup, or a 13-speed XPLR drivetrain, this is the link you need.
Installation is tool-free. The two halves of the link thread through opposite ends of the chain, snap together by hand, and lock into place the first time you push down on the pedals. SRAM designates the PowerLock as a one-time-use link — the locking geometry deforms slightly on first engagement to create the permanent bond, which is why they don't rate it for repeated removal. Riders who wax their chains and pull the link every few weeks will burn through these faster than riders who install once and forget about it, so keep a small stash on hand if you're on a wax rotation. The finish is nickel-plated for corrosion resistance and matches the standard silver Flattop chains — if you're running the rainbow-finish Red chain, the color-matched rainbow PowerLock is a separate part number. Carrying a spare in your saddle bag is cheap insurance against a chain break far from home, and it's the difference between a walk-of-shame and a ten-minute roadside fix.
