Description
Italian-threaded frames aren't as common as they used to be, but if you're building up a classic steel frame or certain Italian-made bikes, you'll need the correct threading to match. SRAM's DUB Italian Bottom Bracket handles that requirement while bringing the DUB spindle interface to frames that would otherwise be left out of modern crankset compatibility.
The DUB system uses a 28.99mm spindle diameter, which sits between traditional 24mm and 30mm standards. This lets SRAM build cranks that work across frame types without multiple spindle versions. For Italian-threaded shells, the cups thread into the frame's 70mm wide shell using the 36mm x 24 TPI threading that Italian standards specify. The right-side cup threads clockwise and the left-side cup threads counter-clockwise, which is the reverse of English/BSA threading. Worth double-checking before you start cranking on the cups.
The WIDE designation in the product name refers to the Q-factor spacing, which pushes the chainline outward compared to the standard DUB Italian bottom bracket. This wider stance accommodates frames designed for broader tire clearance or specific chainline requirements. If you're running a gravel build or a frame with clearance for wider rubber, the WIDE version ensures proper chainring alignment without the chain rubbing on the chainstay.... Read More
