DUB Threaded Bottom Bracket
Size: BSC 68-73mm
Description
Bottom bracket bearings sit directly in your pedaling force path, and the DUB standard is SRAM's answer to years of crankarm and shell compatibility headaches. DUB combines the advantages of both axle standards, offering a compromise between large bearings and axle stiffness, with a spindle diameter of 28.99mm — sized between the traditional 24mm Shimano and 30mm BB30 platforms. This BSA threaded version is the one you want if your frame has an English-threaded shell and you're running any DUB-equipped crankset from Force, Rival, Red, GX, X01, or XX1.
The DUB spindle was engineered as one oversized spindle to work across every bottom bracket specification, allowing better crankarm compatibility regardless of frame shell . That means if you upgrade cranksets down the road — moving from a mechanical Force setup to an AXS Red powermeter crank, for example — the bottom bracket stays. You're not buying a new BB every time SRAM releases a new drivetrain, which is the whole point of the DUB ecosystem.
The cups are cold-forged aluminum with sealed cartridge bearings inside, and SRAM's Gutter Seal Technology sits between the cup and the spindle to keep water and grit out of the bearing race. That sealing is where DUB earns its keep on wet-weather road rides and gravel days — the same BB that used to develop a creak or crunchy feel after one winter of riding tends to stay quiet longer on this platform....
