Description
Direct mount chainrings eliminate the spider and bolt circle diameter conversation entirely. The SRAM Eagle X-Sync 2 bolts straight to compatible cranks using a single T30 Torx interface, which means fewer parts, less weight, and a stiffer connection between your pedal stroke and the chain. If you're running an Eagle crankset and want to swap tooth counts for different terrain, this is how you do it without replacing the whole crank.
The X-Sync 2 tooth profile uses SRAM's wide-narrow chain retention pattern, machined with tighter tolerances than the original X-Sync design. Each tooth alternates between wider and narrower profiles that match the inner and outer chain link spacing on 12-speed Eagle chains. The result is a chainring that grabs the chain precisely and releases it cleanly, reducing the mechanical noise and chain slap that plague looser-tolerance rings on rough terrain.
Aluminum construction keeps weight reasonable across the tooth count range. The 3mm offset positions the chainline correctly for Eagle drivetrains, maintaining proper chain angle to the cassette without rubbing the chainstay on smaller rings or overextending toward the spokes on larger ones. This offset is specific to Eagle systems, so check your crankset compatibility before ordering.... Read More
