Description
Wireless shifting eliminates the cable routing headaches that come with integrated brake-shift levers. The SRAM Force AXS E1 Brake-Shift Lever with Caliper pairs a hydraulic disc brake with SRAM's AXS wireless electronic shifting in a single ergonomic unit, removing mechanical cables from the equation entirely. The lever body uses a reach-adjustable design that accommodates different hand sizes, while the hood shape provides multiple grip positions for varied terrain.
The hydraulic caliper runs DOT fluid and delivers consistent stopping power regardless of conditions. Pad contact point adjustment lets you fine-tune where in the lever stroke the brakes engage, separate from the reach adjustment that positions the lever blade itself. The AXS shift buttons sit where your thumb naturally rests, with the main paddle handling upshifts and the smaller button triggering downshifts. You can swap this orientation through the AXS app if your muscle memory prefers the opposite pattern.
Battery life runs around sixty hours of ride time per charge, and the coin-cell batteries are specific to each lever rather than drawing from a central unit. The E1 designation indicates this is the flat mount caliper version designed for frames and forks with flat mount brake tabs, which covers most gravel and road bikes from the last several years. If your frame uses post mount, you'll need an adapter or a different caliper altogether.... Read More
