Description
DUB spindle technology sits at the center of this crankset, and that matters because it determines what bottom bracket you'll need. The Force AXS E1 crankset uses SRAM's unified DUB system, which means one spindle diameter works across their entire lineup—road, gravel, mountain. Your frame's bottom bracket shell determines which DUB bottom bracket to pair with it, whether that's BSA threaded, T47, PF30, or BB386. The crankset itself stays the same regardless.
The E1 designation refers to the single chainring design. This crankset runs a 40-tooth ring with SRAM's X-SYNC tooth profile, which uses alternating wide and narrow teeth that match the inner and outer chain plate spacing. That tight chain engagement reduces the likelihood of dropped chains without requiring a clutch derailleur, though SRAM's Force rear derailleur does include one anyway. If you're building up a gravel bike or running a 1x road setup, this is the chainring size that balances climbing capability with top-end speed for most terrain.
Hollow carbon fiber arms keep weight competitive with the component's price point. The direct-mount interface for the chainring uses an 8-bolt pattern, so swapping to a different tooth count down the road requires a compatible direct-mount ring rather than a standard BCD spider. Arm lengths span 165mm through 177.5mm in 2.5mm increments, covering the full range of rider proportions and fit preferences.... Read More
