Description
Wireless shifting didn't have to mean giving up rim brakes. The SRAM Force AXS Rim Brake Caliper brings electronic actuation to dual-pivot calipers, letting riders on rim brake frames access the full AXS ecosystem without a frame swap. The caliper receives wireless signals from eTap AXS shifters—squeeze the shift paddle, and a motor in the caliper body moves the brake arms. No cables running to the levers, no housing compression, no cable stretch over time.
The dual-pivot design uses SRAM's SwingLink geometry to increase mechanical advantage at the pad. Cold-forged aluminum arms keep weight in check while maintaining the rigidity needed for consistent lever feel. The brake pads use a compound formulated to work on both carbon and aluminum rim surfaces, which matters if you're running a carbon wheelset on race day and alloy training wheels during the week.
Each caliper runs on a CR2032 battery housed in the unit. SRAM rates battery life at roughly 60 hours of ride time, and the caliper communicates battery status to AXS-compatible cycling computers. Pairing happens through the AXS app, same as derailleurs and droppers in the ecosystem. Front and rear calipers are sold separately—the reach and mounting geometry differ between positions, so you'll need to match front to front and rear to rear.... Read More
