Instead of threading into a replaceable derailleur hanger, the GX Eagle AXS T-Type mounts directly to the Universal Derailleur Hanger interface that's now standard on frames from most major manufacturers. This direct connection eliminates the hanger as a point of flex and potential misalignment, which translates to more consistent shifting across the cassette range.

The T-Type system also relocates chain management from the chainring to the derailleur. A Flattop chain runs to a dedicated T-Type chainring, while the derailleur's integrated chain retention system keeps everything in place.
