Press-fit bottom bracket shells eliminate frame threading, which simplifies frame manufacturing but means the bearings press directly into the frame with no threaded interface to reference. SRAM's GXP PressFit BB86 Bottom Bracket is the direct replacement for any road frame built around the BB86 standard running a SRAM or Truvativ GXP crankset. If you're servicing a bike with a worn or creaking BB86 press-fit and you're on a GXP spindle, this is the SRAM-spec replacement.

The GXP spindle interface uses a 24mm drive-side diameter that steps down to 22mm on the non-drive side, which is what sets the crank's lateral position and lets SRAM eliminate spacers and preload adjusters. That's a different spindle standard than DUB, so this bottom bracket only works with GXP cranks — if you're running a newer SRAM DUB crankset, you need the DUB PressFit version instead.

The cups are composite (nylon) to keep weight down and to press cleanly into aluminum or carbon BB86 shells without galling the frame.
