Description

Disc brake rotors get treated as an afterthought until you need to replace one, and then suddenly you're trying to figure out whether your hubs are Center Lock or six-bolt and which rotor design pairs with your groupset. SRAM's Paceline rotor uses an updated brake track vent design for smooth, quiet braking, is designed to complement SRAM Road AXS groupsets, and is available in 140mm and 160mm in both 6-bolt and Centerlock options, with the Centerlock version using a lighter alloy carrier to save weight. This is the Center Lock, rounded-edge version — the one that installs with a lockring rather than six torx bolts.

The rounded profile on the outer edge of the rotor is the practical detail worth calling out. It reduces the risk of nicking your fingers during wheel changes, which matters more than you'd think when you're pulling wheels in and out of a travel case or swapping between training and race wheelsets. It also makes wheel installation easier when you're threading the rotor between fresh pads that haven't been broken in yet.

The Paceline uses a two-piece construction with a steel brake track bonded to an aluminum carrier. The disc material is steel with a steel spider on the six-bolt version, and disc thickness measures 1.8mm , which is standard for SRAM's road rotor lineup and falls within the wear tolerance most road calipers are designed around. Center Lock mounting keeps installation straightforward if you have a lockring tool — either a Shimano cassette tool for external splined lockrings or a bottom bracket tool for internal splined lockrings, depending on which style your hub uses....
