Description
Rounded rotor edges changed the conversation about road disc brakes. The Paceline X Rounded takes SRAM's approach to aero integration and applies it across their full rotor lineup, eliminating the sharp outer edge that traditional rotors present to the wind. That rounded profile smooths airflow whether you're running 140mm rotors for weight savings or 160mm for additional stopping power on long descents.
The rotor uses a two-piece construction with an aluminum carrier spider bonded to a steel braking surface. This design serves two purposes: the aluminum spider reduces rotating weight compared to a one-piece steel rotor, and it helps dissipate heat away from the braking track during extended braking. The steel braking surface maintains consistent friction characteristics and wears predictably over time, which matters when you're running the same rotors through multiple pad sets.
Center Lock mounting handles installation on any hub using Shimano's splined interface. The lockring torque spec sits at 40 Nm, same as other Center Lock rotors, so your existing tools and installation process carry over directly. If you're replacing rotors on a bike that came with six-bolt hubs, you'd need an adapter or different rotor entirely.... Read More
