11 speed drivetrains run tighter tolerances between cogs, which means chain width and plate profiling matter more than they did on 10-speed systems. The PC-1130 from SRAM uses hollow pins and chamfered inner plates to hit the narrower profile these cassettes require while maintaining the lateral flexibility needed for clean shifts across the full gear range.

The hollow pin construction removes material from the center of each rivet, dropping weight without sacrificing the shear strength that keeps the chain intact under load. Chrome hardening on the pins and inner plates adds surface durability where metal-on-metal contact happens with every pedal stroke. The outer plates get a nickel plating that handles the exposure to road spray, sweat, and whatever else finds its way onto your drivetrain.

SRAM includes their PowerLock connector link, which lets you join the chain without a chain tool. The PowerLock is a single-use connector—once it clicks into place, the interference fit between the link plates locks it there permanently.
