Description

Nine-speed drivetrains still see heavy rotation on gravel builds, touring rigs, and bikes that predate the 11-speed takeover. The PC-951 handles the full range of 9-speed applications—Shimano, Campagnolo, or SRAM—without compatibility headaches. Solid pin construction means every link uses a single-piece pin rather than a hollow rivet, which improves durability under load and simplifies roadside repairs if you need to break and rejoin the chain.

SRAM includes their PowerLink connector, so installation doesn't require a chain tool or special pins. Snap the master link together by hand, pull tension to lock it, and you're rolling. Removal works the same way in reverse—squeeze the link plates together and the chain separates cleanly. This makes drivetrain cleaning dramatically easier since you can pull the chain completely, soak it, and reinstall without wearing out your chain tool or fumbling with connecting pins.

The 114-link length covers most road and mountain applications without cutting. Standard practice is still to size the chain to your drivetrain—wrap it around the big ring and biggest cog, bypassing the derailleur, add two links, and cut there. But the 114-link starting point means you'll have enough material for compact doubles, standard cranksets, and even some of the older triple setups that are still running strong on touring bikes....
