Red AXS E1 2x Chainring Kit
Description
SRAM overhauled the chainring interface when they moved to the Red AXS platform, and the E1 2x Chainring Kit is the replacement set for the current-generation Red AXS crankset. It's a one-piece 2x chainring — the inner and outer rings are machined as a single unit rather than separate rings bolted together — which is where the stiffness and weight savings come from. If your Red AXS E1 crank has worn rings, or you want to change gearing without buying a new crankset, this is the part.
SRAM offers three ratios in the kit: 46/33T, 48/35T, and 50/37T. Every option holds a 13-tooth delta between rings, which keeps the cadence jump manageable when you shift from small to big ring. Pair that with a 10-33T or 10-36T cassette on the back and you get the wide range that X-Range gearing is built around — one-tooth jumps at the top of the cassette where you're cruising, and enough low-end for climbing without the traditional compact/mid-compact trade-off.
The 8-bolt direct mount interface is the key compatibility detail here. This kit fits SRAM's 8-bolt cranks — Red E1, Red D1, and Force AXS cranksets with the 8-bolt spider. It does not fit older 3-bolt or 22-style cranks, and the tooth profile is cut for the SRAM Flattop chain used across the AXS 12-speed road ecosystem, so these won't mesh cleanly with a non-AXS 12-speed drivetrain....
