Red AXS E1 DUB Power Meter 12-Speed Crankset
Description
Integrating the power meter directly into the chainring is what makes this crankset different from bolt-on options — there's no separate spider hanging off the arms, no aftermarket unit added later. The SRAM Red 1x E1 DUB Power Meter Crankset integrates the power meter directly into the chainring — a design decision that keeps the system clean, reduces overall weight, and eliminates the separate spider found on older setups. This is SRAM's flagship 2x road crankset with power measurement built in, and the E1 generation is what you'll find on new Red AXS builds coming out of the factory.
The tradeoff to know before buying: the chainrings and power meter are one piece, so when the rings wear out, you replace the whole unit. The RED chainrings are made to last 50% longer than SRAM's 11-speed chainrings, and note that the chainrings cannot be replaced when worn, since the rings and power meter are one piece. Most customers can get many years of life out of the power meter before it needs to be replaced and SRAM offers a 50% off replacement when needed. For most riders that math works out — you get years of use, and when it's time, SRAM cuts the replacement price in half.
On the measurement side, this is a true dual-sided power meter, not an estimated left-side reading doubled. The SRAM power meter measures power at the spider and is therefore able to measure power from both legs. Dual-leg power measurement, integrated 2x chainrings, lightweight carbon crank arms, accurate to +/- 1.5%, CR2032 user-replaceable battery, left/right power balance, ANT+ and Bluetooth compatibility, auto-zero automatic calibration. Left/right balance data is genuinely useful if you're working through a fit issue or coming back from an injury and want to see whether one leg is quietly loafing.... Read More
