Description

XX1 is a 1x11 top-end mountain bike drivetrain developed by a talented group of engineers and riders. It is based on a single front chainring and an eleven cog (10-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-36-42) cassette that employs a higher high and lower low so you will have all the gearing bases covered with only a need for one chainring in front. Optional chainrings can help fine tune gearing, but everyone we have talked is greatly impressed with the wide range and even, optimized gearing steps on the cassette.
From World Cup XC racing to Marathon to Downhill, XX1 is taking the mountain bike world by storm for some big reasons. XX1 is about 200 grams lighter than the next lightest cross country group because there is no front derailleur, shifter or front cabling required. Secondly, the chainring is engineered to retain the chain where chainrings on double and triple systems needs chainrings that allow chain movement. Because there is a reduced need to reel in chain slack, the rear derailleur can be designed for faster shifts and quiet performance with chain slap virtually eliminated.
XX1 makes sense on a variety of levels. It simplifies the often complex issue of sizing the front derailleur because there is none. The lack of the front derailleur, front shifter and cabling note only reduce weight but make the XX1 group overall less expensive and a true bargain in terms of price and incredible performance.
This kit is basically a drivetrain upgrade and includes a carbon GXP crankset with a 32t chainring, rear derailleur, rear shifter, cassette and chain. Bottom bracket cups are not included.Features- GXP Crankset with carbon arms with forged aluminum spider
- 10-42 XG 11-speed cassette
- CNC-machined 32 ring
- Choose from Twist of Trigger shifters
- XX1 chain with Powerlock quick link
