Description
Ceramic bearings reduce friction at the spindle interface where every pedal stroke generates rotational resistance. The Time Xpro 12 SL Pedals combine these bearings with a hollow titanium spindle and carbon-filled body to hit 87 grams per pedal, making them the lightest road pedal system currently available. With cleats installed, the complete system weighs 259 grams. For riders chasing marginal gains on climbs or time trials, that weight reduction at the rotating extremities of the drivetrain compounds over thousands of pedal strokes.
Three Q-factor options set this pedal apart from competitors that offer only a single stance width. The narrow 51mm spindle suits riders with tight hip angles or those prioritizing aerodynamics by bringing their feet closer to the centerline. The regular 53mm works for most riders, while the wide 57mm accommodates those who need additional stance width for comfort or power production. Each Q-factor option is a separate SKU, so you'll select your preferred width when ordering rather than swapping spindles later.
The Iclic engagement system uses a pre-opened design that distinguishes Time pedals from spring-loaded competitors. The carbon blade retention mechanism sits in the open position when your foot isn't engaged, so clipping in requires stepping down rather than overcoming spring tension. The result is noticeably easier engagement, particularly useful for stoplight starts or when you're fatigued at the end of a long ride. Three tension positions on the carbon blade let you adjust release force to match your preference.... Read More
