Description
V-formation tread patterns handle directional changes differently than random knob layouts. The angled knobs work together during cornering, providing progressive engagement as lean angle increases rather than the abrupt transition you get from tires with isolated center and shoulder zones. That predictability matters when surface conditions change mid-corner and you need consistent feedback from the tire. Vittoria built the Terreno T60 around this V-formation design, creating a tire that moves smoothly between straight-line rolling and committed cornering on surfaces that shift character mid-ride without catching you off guard.
The T60 sits at a T-score of 60 in Vittoria's terrain rating system, positioning it for aggressive mixed conditions where compact dirt gives way to chunky gravel and loose-over-hard surfaces within the same route. It occupies the space between their smoother-rolling options and the more aggressive knobby tires designed for genuinely loose terrain. This is the unpredictable middle ground between groomed paths and genuinely rough terrain, where you need both rolling efficiency on the harder sections and grip when things get loose. Surface siping across the tread face adapts to changing conditions, enhancing traction on varied surfaces without sacrificing the uniform knob profile that keeps handling predictable through transitions.
Construction uses the same Endurance platform Vittoria applies across their long-distance gravel lineup. The 100 TPI nylon casing balances suppleness with durability, absorbing trail chatter while resisting the cuts and abrasions that come from rocky routes. An anti-puncture belt runs beneath the center tread where sharp impacts are most likely to cause problems, and reinforced nylon sidewall protection guards against cuts when you clip rocks on off-camber sections. The bead area includes a Bead Shield layer that maintains integrity for tubeless setups over extended use, keeping air retention reliable as the tire accumulates miles.... Read More
