The computer reads elevation data from its maps and identifies climbs ahead on whatever road you're riding, displaying distance to the start, length, and average gradient. During the climb, a dedicated page shows remaining elevation, current grade, and distance to the summit with color-coded profiles that communicate severity at a glance. You can configure which climb sizes trigger notifications so you're not interrupted by every false flat.

Navigation goes beyond basic turn-by-turn. Back on Track recalculates when you deviate from a route, Route to Start creates the shortest path to your planned starting point, and Retrace Route reverses your breadcrumb trail to get you home. Share a location directly from Google Maps or Apple Maps on your phone to generate an immediate route to that pin. The BOLT receives routes from Komoot, Strava, RideWithGPS, and other platforms that sync through the Wahoo app.

Connectivity covers sensors, accessories, and ecosystem integration. ANT+ and Bluetooth pair with power meters, heart rate monitors, cadence sensors, and radar units. The computer controls KICKR trainers for indoor sessions and manages lights and GoPro cameras from the handlebars. Music controls for Spotify and Apple Music let you skip tracks without reaching for your phone. Live tracking shares your location with designated contacts, and phone notifications appear on screen so you can decide whether that text is worth stopping for.

Battery life reaches 20 hours under typical use, though brightness settings, GPS mode, and connected sensors affect actual runtime. USB-C charging means faster top-ups than micro-USB units when you're refueling at a cafe stop. The included out-front mount positions the computer aerodynamically ahead of the bars with a 31.8mm clamp, and a stem mount ships in the box as an alternative.
