Description
Single-sided power meters measure one leg and double the reading to estimate total output. That works fine if your legs contribute equally, but most riders have some left-right imbalance—and that imbalance can shift during fatigue, after injury, or across different effort levels. The Wahoo Speedplay POWER Dual measures both legs independently, delivering true total power rather than an estimate. You also get left-right balance data, which reveals asymmetries in your pedal stroke and lets you track whether corrective work is actually shifting your power distribution.
The power measurement uses strain gauges in both pedal spindles, each with its own rechargeable battery. Wahoo claims ±1% accuracy, which puts these pedals in the same accuracy tier as dedicated crank-based and spider-based power meters. An internal gyroscope handles cadence measurement without relying on magnets or external sensors. The batteries last up to 75 hours per charge, and low-battery warnings display on compatible head units or through the Wahoo Fitness app.
Connectivity covers both protocols: Bluetooth handles up to three simultaneous device connections while ANT+ broadcasts to unlimited receivers. That flexibility means you can run your bike computer, phone app, and smart trainer simultaneously without pairing conflicts.
