Description
Stance width matters for power production and knee tracking, but most pedal systems offer a single Q-factor and expect you to work within that constraint. The Wahoo Speedplay Zero is the only model in the Speedplay lineup available in four Q-factor options: 53mm, 56mm, 59mm, and 65mm. That range accommodates riders with narrow hips who want their feet closer to the crank arms, wider riders who need more clearance, and anyone whose bike fit has revealed a stance width preference that standard pedals can't deliver.
The Zero occupies the durability-focused position in Wahoo's Speedplay hierarchy. Where the Nano uses titanium to minimize weight and the Comp uses chromoly to minimize cost, the Zero uses stainless steel for the spindle—a material that handles high mileage, repeated impacts, and the general abuse of year-round training without developing the fatigue issues that can affect lighter alloys over time. Riders putting in serious annual mileage will appreciate the longevity that stainless steel construction provides.
At 222 grams per pair, the Zero lands between the featherweight Nano (168g) and the entry-level Comp (232g). That weight reflects the stainless steel spindle paired with a Grivory composite body. The pedal carries no rider weight restriction, so heavier cyclists don't need to worry about exceeding spindle limits the way they would with the titanium Nano.... Read More
