Description
Shell width varies across the 386EVO family from 86mm to 92mm depending on frame manufacturer and model year. The Wheels Manufacturing 386EVO ABEC 3 Bottom Bracket accommodates this entire range, fitting both BB386EVO and BB392EVO standards without requiring different part numbers or adapter configurations. The thread-together design handles the width variation while maintaining proper bearing preload and chainline positioning for your Shimano crankset.
Two machined aluminum cups thread into each other through the 46mm press-fit shell, clamping the assembly in place and eliminating the micro-movement that causes creaking in standard press-fit installations. Once threaded together, the cups stay put under pedaling loads rather than rocking within the shell and wearing out your bearings prematurely. The over-bearing width measures 91.5mm when installed in an 86.5mm shell, positioning the bearing seats outboard of the frame for increased spindle support.
This version fits 24mm spindle diameter cranksets, which covers Shimano's Hollowtech II road cranks from Claris through Dura-Ace, along with RaceFace and Rotor cranks that share the same spindle dimension. FSA MegaExo cranks nominally use 24mm spindles as well, but Wheels Manufacturing notes known compatibility issues with some FSA cranksets. If you're running FSA, check their compatibility documentation before ordering or plan to swap the bearings if needed.... Read More
