Frames built around BB86, BB92, and similar 41mm inner diameter press-fit shells were designed with specific crank spindle diameters in mind. When you want to run a 30mm spindle crankset in one of these frames, the standard bearings won't work because the inner diameter doesn't match. The Wheels Manufacturing BB86 to 30mm ABEC 3 Bearing Kit solves this compatibility gap with dual-row flanged bearings that press directly into the 41mm shell while accepting a 30mm spindle. No adapter cups, no sleeves, just bearings sized to bridge the difference between frame and crank.
The dual-row design places two rows of balls in each bearing rather than the single row found in standard bottom bracket bearings. This configuration doubles the load-carrying capacity and distributes forces across more contact points, which translates to longer service life under the same riding conditions. The flanged outer edge provides a positive stop during installation, ensuring the bearing seats at the correct depth in the shell without requiring precise measurement during the press operation.
Enduro manufactures these bearings with 440C stainless steel balls and races, which adds corrosion resistance compared to standard chromium steel bearings.
