Angular contact bearings engage all their balls under load rather than just the three or four that make contact in standard radial bearings. The Wheels Manufacturing BBRight Threaded AC Bottom Bracket uses this bearing geometry to spread pedaling forces across a larger surface area, reducing friction and extending service life compared to conventional bottom bracket bearings. The Enduro angular contact units inside these cups use Grade 5 chromium steel balls machined to tolerances measured in millionths of an inch.

The thread-together design addresses the core problem with press-fit bottom brackets: movement within the shell that causes creaking and accelerates bearing wear. Two machined aluminum cups thread into each other through the BBRight shell, clamping in place and eliminating the micro-movement that plagues standard press-fit installations. When your bearings eventually need service, you can replace just the bearing cartridges rather than the entire bottom bracket assembly. That serviceability matters on a component that sees constant loading every time you pedal.

This version fits frames using the BBRight standard, which Cervelo developed to gain stiffness through an asymmetric shell design. The 46mm inner diameter and 79mm width accommodate the wider drive-side bearing placement that BBRight requires, and the cups position your 24mm Shimano crankset spindle at the correct chainline.
