Chris King developed the T47 standard to combine the reliability of threaded bottom brackets with the flexibility to accommodate modern oversized crank spindles. The Wheels Manufacturing T47 Inboard ABEC-3 Bottom Bracket threads directly into T47 shells using the same familiar conventions as traditional BSA bottom brackets: left-hand threads on the drive side, right-hand threads on the non-drive side. If you've installed a threaded bottom bracket before, this follows the same logic in a larger diameter package.

The inboard bearing configuration places the Enduro ABEC-3 bearings inside the cups rather than outboard of the frame. This design works with T47 shells ranging from 68mm to 132mm in width, covering road frames, mountain bikes, gravel builds, and fat bikes with their extended shell widths. The wide compatibility range comes from the spacer system included with the bottom bracket, which lets you adjust the assembly to match your specific shell width while maintaining proper chainline and bearing preload.

Machined aluminum cups thread into the 47x1.0mm shell and connect through an internal sleeve that serves multiple purposes.
